Wenke Announces Candidacy for Reelection

MARSHALL—Lorence Wenke, Richland, officially announced that he is seeking a third term in the Michigan House to represent citizens in the 63rd District.

“It’s been a privilege and an honor to serve the citizens of the 63rd District,” said Wenke.

Wenke made his announcement today at the Brooks Memorial Fountain in Marshall and at the Kalamazoo Regional Chamber of Commerce in Kalamazoo. He was accompanied by his wife, Nancy, who is a nurse at Borgess Medical Center.

“Calhoun and Kalamazoo Counties need a strong Republican voice representing them in Lansing,” said Wenke. “I’ve worked hard to represent them, and I will continue to do so in my third term.”

Wenke also said he would sign a Clean Campaign Pledge with any candidate that might oppose him.

“Negative campaigns are a great disservice to voters,” said Wenke. “I encourage all candidates running this year to openly debate the issues that affect voters the most, like jobs and education.”

The 63rd District includes parts of Calhoun and Kalamazoo counties.
